PSI utilises technology to enhance learning and overall school operations. It is an integral part of every school day. The aim of our approach is for all students and staff to become self-sufficient, confident, proficient, and creative in their use of technology.

To this end, PSI utilises Google Suite for day-to-day online productivity and office applications for students and staff.  

PSI has a fully networked campus and a robust wifi system, providing students with ready access to the Internet and network resources. Our classrooms are equipped with digital projectors which are used to support the integration of technology into the learning process.

We have adopted a scaffolded computer plan for our students, guiding them through the process of becoming computer owners. All students and staff follow our Responsible Use Agreement.

  • In EC, Kindergarten and Grade 1, students have access to school-managed iPads with a variety of interactive learning applications installed. 

  • In Grade 2, Chromebook's are shared between two students in different classes, giving them a chance to develop a sense of ownership and care for the device as well as having easy access to a computer when they need it.

  • In Grades 3 - 5, all students are assigned their own Chromebook.

  • Secondary students in Grades 6 - 12 bring their own devices to school, or may use one of the research stations in the library.  If needed, for special projects, there are research stations in the library.

PSI students also have access to a MakerSpace area to supplement their classroom experience and encourage creativity.

Both inquiry and assessment tasks often allow the use of multimedia devices such as digital cameras and iPads to investigate, record and create. In addition, we have 3D printers available for classes to use for printing their designs of 3D objects to further facilitate a 21st century learning environment.

Finally, PSI does offer a variety of Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) that are technology focused, including coding, keyboarding, robotics, and 3D Design.
